Sitting zazen in longer retreats such as this can be a wonderful opportunity to deepen your practice. We encourage you to attend what you can, as you can. If you are at all inclined, call or email Barb to discuss.
Part-time participation is welcome: For Zoom participants part-time access is flexible. Because seats in the dojo may be limited, those wishing to participate in-person and part-time, please contact Barb Carey barbmcoly@comcast.net for arrangements.
These retreats are rigorous and quite demanding, consisting of about 10 hours of zazen (sitting meditation) per day. They are silent except for the teacher’s daily teisho (dharma talk), and for dokusan (practice-related interview with the teacher). If you have no prior sesshin experience, you will probably first want to attend one of the shorter retreats (zazenkai) in Seattle.
